Stay Safe Ohio Order

On May 29, 2020, under the direction of Ohio Governor Mike DeWine, Ohio Department of Health Director Amy Acton, M.D., MPH issued a director’s order that updates and revises Business Guidance ans Social Distancing to prevent the further spread of COVID-19 until 11:59 p.m. on July 1, 2020.

On May 20, 2020, Amy Acton rescinds and modifies portions of the Stay Safe Ohio Order.

This order prohibits holding gatherings larger than 10 people. If gathering, social distancing of 6 feet apart is required.

 

This order continues to open businesses with workplace safety standards required. This order allows some businesses to open while maintaining 6 foot social distancing, employees will wear masks, and customers are encouraged to wear masks, also.  Residents can return home from out of state and can leave the state.

On May 22, 2020, Amy Acton, ordered that non-contact sports open/reopen. Including the following: baseball, softball, batting cages, golf courses, miniature golf, public pools, tennis, skills training for sports, and bowling alleys. All opening/reopening must follow set actions.

This order does NOT prohibit essential activities like going to the grocery store, receiving medical care, or taking your pet for a walk. However, be mindful and practice safe social distancing (6 feet apart) and if you are sick stay home or seek medical attention.

The elderly and those who are vulnerable as a result of illness should take additional precautions and if at all possible stay home.

Additionally, the Governor is asking people to wear masks when out in public.
